EMMA representatives spent a few days mingling with the German industry and hosted a panel at Most Wanted: Music in Berlin at the beginning of November. Moderated by Magdalena Jensen (Chimes Agency), the panel “Artist Management in Rapid Change” kicked off with a presentation by Paul Bonham of the new MMF UK report (Managing Expectations, Oct 2019) and followed with a great discussion between the two of them and EMMA Chair Per Kviman (Versity Music) and Sophie Mathes (Pennywine Entertainment). The four shared wisdom, insights and tips on management for a packed room of German artists and managers. They discussed three main hot topics in the field of artist management these days: finances and investment in artists, contracts and how legal practices vary in different countries in Europe and the ever-developing range of skills that managers need to have to successfully run their artist’s careers these days.
