As part of the EMMPower Programme, the European Music Managers Alliance (EMMA) proudly continues its four thematic genre-focused networks: Folk/Global, Rock/Metal, Hip-Hop/R&B, and Electronic/Dance. These networks are designed to unite and empower music managers across Europe, creating a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and fostering international opportunities within each specific genre.

Here’s a closer look at the steering committee for these genre networks:

Purpose: The primary goal of these networks is to drive the growth and development of these genres, empowering music managers through collaboration and exchange of expertise. This initiative is about building a supportive community that shapes the present and future of music management in Europe.

Structure: Each network is guided by a steering committee comprising music managers from across Europe and diverse backgrounds, along with a coordinator. This team ensures the effective realisation of the network’s objectives, maintaining a focused and strategic approach.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Topic Selection: Committee members are instrumental in choosing important topics relevant to each genre, influencing the agenda of discussions and activities.
  • Knowledge Sharing: A key aspect of the committee’s role is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and expertise, enhancing the collective understanding and capabilities of the group.
  • Community Building: Strengthening the sense of community within each genre, the committee will foster a network of mutual support and collaboration.
  • Influencing Priorities: The committee’s insights will directly influence the key focus areas and challenges within each genre.
  • Future Shaping: Members have the unique opportunity to shape the trajectory and future developments within their genre, influencing wider industry trends.

Engagement and Meetings:

The steering committee will meet regularly, either biweekly or monthly, to maintain momentum and facilitate ongoing collaboration. Additionally, each network will host quarterly genre-focused online networking meet-ups. These online events provide broader opportunities for engagement, discussion, and networking among a wider group of music managers, further enriching the community and extending its impact.

This initiative is an incredible opportunity for those passionate about their genre to make a meaningful contribution to the European music management landscape. If you are enthusiastic about shaping the future of music management and eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals, we invite you to be a part of this exciting project.
