European Music Managers Alliance (EMMA) now invites music managers to apply for their EMMpower Mentorship Programme. This free programme aims to provide professional support to managers looking to further develop their competencies in today’s music industry.

    • EMMpower Mentorship Programme seeks European music managers for mentor and mentee roles. 
    • Mentees gain one-on-one mentoring, a tailored education programme, workshops, and access to the EMMA community. Mentors receive training to enhance their mentoring skills.
    • Both mentors and mentees will benefit from unique professional development opportunities and access to a network of industry peers.

 

MENTEE

The EMMpower Mentorship Programme is a carefully designed learning scheme in which mentoring sessions with highly experienced European managers are complemented by educational activities and peer-oriented meetings focused on building valuable connections, knowledge exchange, and support.

The EMMpower 2025 agenda for Mentees includes:

    • 16 hours of mentoring sessions with an experienced manager
    • Program kick-off meeting
    • 4 workshops on various aspects of strategy development
    • 4 peer-to-peer learning sessions
    • Wrap-up meeting

Mentee Criteria:

    • Currently residing and actively working within Europe.
    • At least 2 years of active experience as an artist manager with proven local or international achievements 
    • At least 2 years of experience working with an artist or band, with achievements that can be demonstrated as a result of their managerial work, prioritizing the artist’s career development locally and internationally
    • Experience participating in key events and initiatives in the music industry in the last two years, including music and showcase festivals, projects, and partnerships. 
    • Actively involved in developing a network of industry relations, both locally and internationally.
    • At least 50% of the candidate’s professional activity is carried out as a music manager.

All official activities are planned to be conducted online.

The diverse range of activities within the Programme enables participants to enhance their learning experience and develop managerial competencies from multiple perspectives and practices— ranging from training sessions introducing theory and tools to professional guidelines and inspiring conversations with peers.

MENTOR

The EMMpower Mentorship Programme is a carefully designed learning scheme that supports the development of emerging music managers alongside the professional growth of mentors. Through tailored training sessions and professional methodology workshops, experienced music managers can refine their mentoring practice and expand their toolkit.

The EMMpower Mentorship Programme is an opportunity for managers who wish to enhance their mentoring experience as part of their personal development or who envision mentorship as a key aspect of their future careers.

Mentor’s agenda in the EMMpower Mentorship Programme:

    • 1 Mentor onboarding meeting
    • 1 Mentoring Competence Training (agenda tailored to mentors’ needs)
    • 3 Programme meetings (Kick-off, Mid-Programme and Wrap-up)
    • 2 Mentor meetings
    • 16 hours of mentoring sessions delivered to each of the two mentees

Mentor Criteria:

    1. Currently residing and actively working within Europe.
    2. Min. 7 years of continuous activity in the local and international music industry
    3. Significant experience as an artist manager (documented by the artist’s achievements on the market)
    4. Experience of active participation in key events, projects and initiatives of the international music industry, e.g. music and showcase festivals, conferences, partnerships
    5. Having a well-developed network in the international music industry
    6. Highly developed strategic competencies that enable supporting emerging managers in building their own strategic plans (e.g., long-term strategies for artists, management companies, marketing plans, releases, etc.).
      (As the EMMpower Mentorship Programme has a project-based structure, participants will be asked to develop a strategic plan in a preferable area throughout 6 months of the Programme duration. Mentees and mentors are equipped with detailed guidelines, support of EMMA Team and educators if needed). 

As part of the EMMpower programme, mentors receive:

    1. Remuneration: 2,500 EUR
    2. Professional mentoring skills training, preparing you to act as mentors in a more effective way
    3. Periodic supervision meetings supporting mentors in their role, providing tools, expert insights and solutions for current challenges in working with mentee
    4. Access to the EMMA community and networking opportunities

The EMMpower Mentorship Programme allows music managers to gain proven knowledge, practical tools, and best practices to build sustainable careers for their artists. The programme will run from April till November 2025.
